- The only platform giving a complete overview of the ITC market
CeBIT is a must in resellers' calendars. A platform where they can not only place their orders but also catch up on the very latest trends for the whole year. This is true for IT and telecommunications resellers and consumer electronics speciality dealers. After all, both the technology and the market are converging. CeBIT is the only forum that presents the entire ITC range from around the world in a single location. This makes it an ideal platform for resellers to obtain information from manufacturers, developers, sales professionals and analysts.
Nine halls are available for speciality retailing at the ˇ§Digital Equipment & Systemsˇ¨ show alone (Halls 1 to 2 and 19 to 25). Topics in this area at CeBIT 2007 include HDTV, interactive entertainment, mobile TV, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, quadruple play, intelligent living and multifunction consoles.
The initial contact point for speciality dealers from all ITC sectors is "Planet Resellerˇ¨ in Hall 25, which will celebrate its fifth anniversary at CeBIT 2007. Exhibitors include Acer, API and Electronic Partner. The industry associations BVT (German Technical Retail Trade Association) and ZVEH (General Association of the German Electrical and IT Industry) will also be on hand to offer advice. ˇ§Planet Resellerˇ¨ is not just a networking forum for resellers, distributors, systems houses, collaborations and manufacturers but also a unique media meeting point. At CeBIT 2006, over 1,800 journalists alone used the trade fair to find out about the sector. 2007 will even see special web TV shows being produced directly at Planet Reseller.
The ˇ§digital imagingˇ¨ special display in Hall 23 will provide information on all aspects of the image, ranging from capture, processing, storage, transfer and output to services and consumables. This special presentation is more than just an exhibition of products. It offers a unique insight into how IT and telecommunications base technologies at CeBIT can be implemented in state-of-the-art photography. A lecture program organized in conjunction with the Research Group for Digital Photography (adf) will be showcasing contemporary aspects of digital photography. Those wishing to see ready-made images will find what they are looking for in the photo gallery. This will include the winners of the ˇ§Fascination of Technologyˇ¨ photo competition. Motifs could include a photomacrograph of a circuit board, an electricity mast in the morning mist or a factory scene. The competition is organized by Deutsche Messe and the editorial team of "Fotohits" magazine. The attractive prizes include a digital camera with ten megapixels, a nude photography workshop in Vienna and brand-new image-editing software. A further subject in the photo gallery is ˇ§CeBIT People.ˇ¨ The portraits show visitors, exhibitors, prominent stars and event organizers. The pictures are produced in the photographic studio in professional quality and elaborated with an individual statement.
A further highlight targeted at resellers is the ˇ§Lifestyle@CeBITˇ¨ special display with digital consumer electronics in 16 different living and working environments. Here, visitors can see, feel and experience the products and combinations for creating a real lifestyle feeling. Topics featured include HDTV, HiFi sound and racks, multimedia PCs/media centers, interactive TV and media streaming. Among the exhibitors are AMD, Audio Networks and Samsung. Leading furniture stores such as Seydlitz will ensure a suitably elegant ˇ§lifestyle setting.ˇ¨
isitors who want to know how technology works and what questions and arguments are crucial when making purchase decisions should visit the ˇ§digital livingˇ¨ stage in Hall 19. There they will see highly complex scenarios from various
manufacturers in an easy-to-understand format. Well-known TV presenters will explain the interplay between different technologies. ˇ§digital livingˇ¨ highlights the luxuries and possibilities opened up by the new digital world, ranging from FullHD technology ˇV which plays MPEG-4 files from a computer via PowerLAN from an HD network receiver ˇV through to Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs.
