CeBIT 2007 (15 ˇV 21 March):
One stop shopping: a complete spectrum of ICT solutions at a single venue

December 4, 2006

  • CeBIT supplies answers to all questions concerning today's digital world
  • Optimized business processes for SMEs and large corporations
  • Attractive offerings for ICT and CE resellers

CeBIT 2007 (15 ˇV 21 March) will provide answers to all the burning questions posed by senior executives, IT managers, purchasing specialists and dealers. Subtitled ˇ§the leading business event for the digital worldˇ¨, CeBIT sets the key trends and indicates what's on the horizon. Media and networks are converging fast, ICT applications are revolutionizing the way we do business, and digital lifestyle products are opening up new perspectives for dealers and resellers.

Ideal for SMEs and major corporations: a complete spectrum of ICT applications at a single venue

In keeping with the ˇ§one stop shoppingˇ§ principle, visitors to CeBIT can obtain all the information and guidance they need at one central venue. Service providers, in particular, rely increasingly on sophisticated tools in order to streamline their business processes and optimize their customer support. Key issues in this context are voice over IP (VoIP), enterprise content management (ECM), service-oriented architectures (SOA), security tools, auto ID/RFID and customer relationship management (CRM). CeBIT 2007 will boast two new display highlights: the ˇ§CRM Arenaˇ¨ and ˇ§SOA Worldˇ¨. As in previous years open source computing will be high up on the CeBIT agenda.

The much-enlarged ˇ§Telematics & Navigationˇ¨ display category will be a magnet for visitors ˇV for logistics companies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This is the first time that the entire telematics chain has been presented in the context of a trade show. The spotlight will be on the navigation system GPS and the independent alternative Galileo. Further highlights will include the ˇ§Networks Forumˇ§ and the Forum ˇ§IP Central @ CeBITˇ¨.

At CeBIT 2007 decision-makers from the financial services industry will be in an ideal position to view the latest dedicated banking systems. At ˇ§Public Sector Parcˇ¨ managers working in national and local government can obtain a complete update on e-government and its potential for boosting efficiency. Last but not least, ˇ§future parcˇ¨ is a ˇ§must-seeˇ¨ presentation for all members of the business community. The spotlight here is on ground-breaking science and research in the ICT sector.

Top attractions for dealers: the comprehensive array of ICT and CE products; the Digital Lifestyle presentation; and the concentrated information available at Planet Reseller

Around 40,000 dealers and resellers from all sectors of the ICT and CE industry attended CeBIT 2006. At the show they can find all the products and systems they are looking for. For example, more than 100,000 square metres of display space at CeBIT 2007 will be devoted to digital consumer electronics. Hot topics in 2007 will be mobile TV, DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting ˇV Handhelds), broadband networks, as well as the convergence of fixed-line and mobile networks. The focus will also be on HDTV, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, digital lifestyle products and multifunctional consoles. What's more, CeBIT 2007 will present a complete array of hardware ˇV everything from memory chips and MP3 players to home electronics and mainframe computers.

Dealers and distributors have a vital interest in seeing how individual products function in a networked environment. This is where the special displays ˇ§digital livingˇ§ and ˇ§Lifestyle@CeBITˇ¨ come into play. The ˇ§digital livingˇ¨ program encompasses live discussions and product presentations chaired by well-known TV personalities. Dealers will have an ideal opportunity to see how IT, telecoms and CE are growing together and what factors are likely to influence the consumers' purchasing decisions. Against this background ˇ§digital livingˇ¨ will open up whole new perspectives in luxury and convenience. One example is the new generation of multifunctional receivers that can play downloaded MPEG-4 media files as well as pre-recorded Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. A further highlight will be ˇ§Lifestyle@CeBITˇ¨, which presents consumer electronics products in 16 individual ˇ§design worldsˇ¨. Yet another visitor magnet will be the special display ˇ§digital imagingˇ¨, which should prove to be a mine of information about image acquisition, processing, output and related services.

Taking place for the fifth time in 2007, ˇ§Planet Resellerˇ¨ is tailored exactly to the requirements of the distributive trades. Dealers, systems integrators and retailers gather here in a concentrated working atmosphere, where they can talk to all the relevant suppliers and obtain valuable professional advice about future sales strategies.
