Getting there faster : Telematics and Navigation at CeBIT

Getting there faster: "Telematics and Navigation" is one of the main topics at CeBIT 2006 from 9 to 15 March. This will be the largest presentation of its kind. Located in Hall 11 it will show how telematics solutions and navigation systems can enable you to reach your destination quickly and easily, manage fleets of vehicles, and increase safety on the road.

"Telematics and Navigation" first appeared as a separate category in Hall 11 at CeBIT 2005. The coming event promises to be a far bigger, more interesting event, showcasing a whole host of new information, areas and features. A complete range of telematics solutions and navigation systems will be displayed across 4,500 m 2 . "ICT in Motion" is a special new presentation, providing information about in-car entertainment and traffic telematics ¡V for transportation by land, water and air.

The "Telematics & Navigation" forum will examine topical issues relating to technology and application aspects of traffic management. The exhibition entitled "Safer, cleaner, more manageable traffic" covers a wide breadth of topics, including setting up and operating information services, future developments for dynamic navigation, and traffic management for large events. Up-to-date information about GALILEO, the European satellite navigation project, road toll systems, and information transfer using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) will also be available. The speakers will include telematics and navigation experts and users. Tried-and-tested business models, technical solutions and networks will all be presented under the "Users advise Users" banner.

The key target groups among visitors will include representatives from politics and administration, companies involved in the transportation and freight transport sectors, and potential users, namely automobile drivers and train and plane passengers.
