Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) of the United States has assigned its top
executive in charge of the notebook computer business to lead its
team at the newly opened HP global product development center in
Taiwan-
HP vice president in charge of the global notebook computer business
has started working at the PDC last week.
He will also keep in close touch with HP cooperation partners,
including Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics, Inventec, and Arima
Computer, for coordination of productsios and R&D on new products.
After formally establishing the PDC in Taiwan last September, the
first of its kind in the Asian region, the first job hands with
Inventec to roll out the first locally developed HP notebook PC.
During the final quarter of 2002, HP re-emerged as the wwworld's
top supplier of personal computers. Mitchell and the PDC are expected
to play a more active role in enablingHP to maintain its leaderhip
position in the world market.
