AOpen
to set up over 20 warehouses in America.
Nov 28, 2001
Aopen Inc. said in Taipei that the firm would set
up more than 20 new delivery warehouses in America to secure continued
sales growth in the PC and key component market in that region. Executives
at Eopen claimed that the firm has already become the only Whitebox
system supplier of IngramMicro, the largest PC and peripheral distributor
in the U.S. In consideration of the future sales grwoth and customer
services, Aopen will establish over 20 delivery warehouses in America
and a warehouse headquarter in Shenzhen, Guandong Province, South
China.
A company spokesman said that the U.S. market has
represented a 25% sales ratio for Aopen now, about the same figure
recorded in 2000. IngraMicro has designated Aopen as the only whitebox
supplier after years of cooperation ties, Yang said.
PC sales prospects are still bright in the U.S., as
major upstream makers are undergoing a new business reshuffle, including
the merger between Compaq and Hewlett-Packard and the IBM's new strategy
of not to focus its PC sales on the family market. .
