"Empower the e-World" says the press release of MiTAC, describing
the theme of the company's this year's Computex presentation: new
solutions to enable office, home and lifestyle environments with
products that integrate digital technology, enhancing convenience,
productivity and enjoyability.
Mai attraction is a new line of PDAs of which a company spokesperson
claims they go beyond the performance of typical handheld computers,
as they feature color screens and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
MiTAC's PDAs want to offer users free, real-time connectivity to
get Internet. Based on a NEC 66MHz MIPS CPU, the unit offers a Compact
Flash slot for easy memory expansion and a back-lit 4.1'' color
TFT touch screen and runs on either Windows CE or Embedded Linux,
depending on customer requirements. In addition to a full slate
of enhanced PIM ( Personal Information Manager) applications, such
as address book and appointment diary as well as connections to
the Internet or the customer's own LAN, extra features include MP3
playback, voice recording and media playing.
