Striving to reposition itself as an electronic manufacturing
service (EMS) provider, Lung Hwa Electronics has been dedicated
to liquid crystal display (LCD) products since 2000, paying considerable
attention to industrial design. At last week's CeBIT in Hannover,
the company showcased a slime-type MCD monitor, which not only
proves Taiwan player's research and development clout in the LCD
field but also attracted wide attention an the show.
The 15-inch slim LCD monitor incorporates video signal control,
power management functions, TV channel switching and video-in
functions in an external box, allowing it so serve as a monitor,
display, and TV screen.
The panel is sub-supplied by a mjaor Tiwan LCD panel maker, which
has bought its exclusive design rights. According to local sources,
Taiwan manufacturers are integrating upstream and downstream resources
and this may be an unavoidable trend.
Lung Hwa's "Mobile Link", a device connecting Pocket PCs and
cellular phones, was also a major attraction at the company's
booth within the "Taiwan Pavilion" in Hall 13, demonstrating the
company's ambition in the new field of information appliances
