MiTAC's Bluetooth PDA, the first samples of which already drew
attention at Comdex Fall 2000, will be one of the company's main
features at CeBIT 2001. According to a company spokesman, this
device would get users "anything and everything you want from
the Internet at anytime anywhere!"
With a built-in Bluetooth Module for Wireless Networking Communication,
an 8MB expandable RAM and equipped with a standard NEC 66MHz MIPSCPU
and a compact flash slot, the set measures 81 mm wide, 130 mm
high and 15 mm deep and weighs in at only 140 grams. By supporting
Access Point, it can be wirelessly linked to printers, notebooks,
PCs, mobile phones and other networking communication equipment.
Another feature was announced as being a series of wireless WebPADs
equipped with MiTAC's self-developed Linux Embedded OS, which
the spokesman described as the currently most potential operating
system.
Furthermore, targeting at European OEM/ODM customers and distributors,
the company will be displaying its "newest business profile focused
in wireless networking solutions" and Internet appliance products,
designed for e-home and e-office solutions.
