Premier Camera Taiwan Co. will debut its self-designed 350,000-pixel digital cameras by the end of August. It will feature dual mode, MP3 player, recorder, and traditional camera functions.

The dual mode will replace the computer camera in certain functions. By using the USB interface, Premier's 350,000-pixel digital camera will emulate computer cameras in both function and price. Dual mode is expected to become a bundled accessory in low-end digital cameras in the future, executives of Premier said.

Sampo Corp. has already obtained small orders from Samsung of South Korea for the manufacture of its 350,000-pixel digital camera. This Taiwan-made digital camera also features dual mode and an MP3 player.
