After years of research and development, Lite Vision Corp. will
begin mass production of quality PDP (plasma display panel) products
in September, executives of the firm said Wednesday.
In an attempt to meet increasing orders, the firm will expand
it's plant in Taipei County, and will raise capital of NT$250
million by issuing new shares and apply for NT$560 million worth
of convertible corporate bonds.
The expansion project is expected to need about NT$1 billion
worth of capital. The firm's board will finalize details on Sept.
16.
If everything goes smoothly, the firm will conduct mass production
of its PDP products in September. Output will reach a few hundred
units per month initially.
The profit margin of PDP products will reach about 35%. The firm
attempts to secure OEM orders from Japan initially.
Presently, PDPs are sold at between NT$290,000 and NT$300,000
per unit. Lite Vision estimates its price will be as low as NT$200,000
per unit, however.
