Sunon MagLev Motor Fan is the first fan motor to operate without
friction between shaft and bearing in the world, and was introduced
by Sunon in the fourth quarter of 1999.
The patented MagLev design is based on magnetic principles and
forces that not only propel the fan but also ensure stable rotation
over its entire 360 degrees of movement. Utilizing the attraction
of the magnetic levitation force, MagLev eliminates the wobbing
and shaking problems of general motor fans. With this new technology,
the MagLev fan propeller is suspended in air during rotation so
that the shaft and bearing do not come into direct contact with
each other to create friction. The result is a new and improved
fan with a low noise level, high temperature-endurance, and long
life.
The MagLev design can be used with sleeve bearings or ball bearings
and also works excellent with Sunon's self-innovated - VAPO bearing.
Moreover, the inner surface material of Vapo bearing bore is specially
treated to enhance the hardness so that the abrasion of shaft can
be largely resisted and bearing with high-temp operating environment
over 70¢J, even among 90¢J to 100¢J.
The name MagLev is derived from Magnetic Levitation System. In
2003, Sunon unveils the newly renamed MagLev to more concisely convey
the meaning of the product. With MagLev, customers enjoy the high
level of precision that comes with this technology, but with a new
simplified name.
Since the fourth quarter of 1999, when Sunon first introduced the
MagLev Motor Fan, over sixty million units have been shipped to
renowned manufacturers all over the world. Substantial contributions
have been made by Sunon's MagLev Motor Fans to various industries
and products that require high-level heat transfer, such as notebook
computers, servers, projectors, and stereo systems.
