Albatron Technology, an IT hardware solutions provider recently launched the KX600S Pro mainboard which is based on the latest VIA KT600/8237 chipsets. Support for the latest AMD 0.13-micron CPUs can now allow the Northbridge to interface with those CPUs at FSB400 speeds. In addition, the KX600S Pro comes with DDR400 Memory and is Serial ATA ready with RAID 0,1 functionality.

The KX600S Pro also provides enhanced multimedia capabilities featuring a 6 Channel Audio system and an AGP 8X interface. Finally, this board comes with a very diverse set of communications facilities featuring an onboard LAN interface.

Albatron KX600S Pro mainboard comes to market having been optimized for disk management performance employing a 150 MB/sec Serial ATA interface which is 50% faster than older Ultra ATA-100 IDE interfaces. Integrated RAID 0,1 can also enhance disk access performance or provide data fault tolerance. This board also supports both FSB400 and DDR400 which means that the FSB and the DDR memory can top speeds of 3.2 GB/sec and is capable of efficiently balancing the processing and distribution of data with today's advanced processors (e.g. AMD Athlon XP 3200+). The KX600S Pro also supports an AGP 8X interface that can talk with the Northbridge at 2.1 GB/sec, ensuring adequate performance for crucial graphics functions.

The KX600S Pro motherboard is capable of taking advantage of the OTP (Over Temperature Protection) feature of Athlon XP processors which detects when the CPU reaches critical temperatures and automatically shuts down the system before any damage is done to the CPU. This mainboard also includes the Watchdog Timer feature that is used when the system hangs during the boot process. The Watchdog Timer automatically resets errant BIOS settings to the default values, saving the user the trouble of having to manually hard jumper the default settings on the board.

The KX600S Pro comes with an embedded 3COM LAN chipset capable of 10/100 Mbps, providing reliable, high-quality network connectivity. Also embedded is a 5.1 Channel Audio chipset allowing the user to easily attach 6 surround sound speakers, giving you studio quality, home entertainment stereo.
