Designed for road warrior workers and trendsetters, the E-TEN M500
helps users integrate their digital lifestyle with mobile business
and personal entertainment capabilities. In addition to multimedia
ability, the E-TEN M500 also features a built-in quad-band GSM/GPRS
module, offering wireless connectivity that gives users the freedom
they need in their mobile lifestyles.
The E-TEN M500 runs on the Microsoft® Windows Mobile™
2003 software for Pocket PC Phone Edition operating system. The
newest version of the Pocket PC platform provides a great experience
for wireless connectivity, messaging and all the features people
have come to expect from a technology-leading mobile operating system.
The new platform includes a more intuitive user interface with enhanced
Microsoft productivity applications, personal information management
tools, advanced entertainment applications and enhanced usability.
To meet the needs of the enterprise user, the E-TEN M500 can also
be customized with pre-loaded factory applications.
Wireless Capabilities
A built in quad-band GSM/GPRS module provides wide area network
connectivity. Users can access any network while they are on the
move to refer to or update databases in their office, receive and
send e-mail, and browse the Internet (optional ISP subscription
required). Bluetooth ® wireless technology allows for fast data
transfer without the need for cables or wires. A built-in speakerphone
function enables hands-free talking.
Integrated Digital Camera
The E-TEN M500's innovative new design features a built-in 1.3 megapixel
digital camera enabling users to capture images and video clips
anytime and anywhere, and can be saved within the 130 MB of user
accessible memory or onto SD type expansion cards. A built-in flash
light and 4x zoom function enables you to hold onto that special
moment whenever you want.
Managing Digital Photos
Built-in freehand imaging software allows you to create and
edit images for e-mail and messaging more quickly and easily. Users
can configure the multimedia manager to share images with friends
or co-workers via e-mail or infrared sharing. Pictures can also
be shared to and from expansion cards.
Compelling multimedia experience
New add-on applications have been introduced for this new generation
Pocket PC Phone Edition device to make your mobile adventure even
more entertaining. The M-Desk, for example, features mobile desktop
as well as your PC desktop and system console. With Incoming call
recognition, you can intelligently add photographs to your contacts
on the Pocket PC. During an incoming call, you will easily see who
is calling you from the screen before you choose to answer. The
multimedia player, such as a digital jukebox will also add to your
mobile multimedia experience. All these add-on applications are
designed for convenient one-thumb operation and most of the applications
also support wizard mode to lead you through the easy-to-understand
menus.
Other new M500 features include a fast 400 MHz Samsung 2440 processor
that provides excellent multimedia and game performance. 64 Polyphonic
and MP3 ring tones, 5-way navigation key for one-handed operation
are included as well. Other helpful accessories include the car
kit - a very flexible and simple to install solution, providing
you a hands-free option for the times when you are on the road.
It also supports the Bluetooth® headset. With the E-TEN M500
convenient communication on the road without any wires and is no
longer just a dream.
The E-TEN M500 has been awarded the iF Design Award 2005 for Design
in the category of Product Design/Consumer Electronics/Telecommunication.
iF Design Award is regarded as one of the most important design
competitions worldwide, attracting over 2,322 entries from 31 different
countries just in this year (2005).
Pricing for the E-TEN M500 has not yet been disclosed and will
