IWILL XP333, the Xtreme Desktop Mainboard, Accelerates Your World With the Fastest Memory Technology, DDR333, and The Fast Drives Technology, Ultra ATA/133

Oct. 18, 2001

October 10, 2001,Taipei, Taiwan - IWILL Corporation announces its latest motherboard, XP333, the Xtreme motherboard. IWILL XP333 is based on the high performance ALi MAGiK1 chipset that supports AMD K7 series processors. IWILL's knowledgeable R&D team has work closely with their vendors; together, they have break through the 266MHz FSB bottleneck and reach the 333MHz FSB.

IWILL is the first motherboard manufacturer that comes up with such a marvelous product to support DDR 333 memories. Besides the fastest Front Side Bus, IWILL XP333 also supports the fastest IO, Ultra ATA-133. Besides the naive ATA133 IDE ports, its HPT372 IDE RAID controller from HighPoint also supports Ultra ATA-133. In total, it supports eight ATA-133 IDE devices. Following the previous successful series of IWILL K7 platform motherboards, IWILL XP333 in the ATX form factor also introduces SuperAudio™ technology, which comprises C-media¡¦s CMI8738 6-Channel and SPDIF Hardware Sound controller ¡V one optional choice, supplying audience with a live digital soundtrack environment. All contributes to the XP333 accomplishment in empowering the full realm of performance in video, audio, and 3-D graphics surroundings and satiating user's desperate needs by utilizing newly entertainment and productivity devices.

DDR333 is the latest product from the DDR memory technology that has set another milestone in the memory evolution. DDR333 provides more bandwidth for the system. It is named as PC2700 DDR SDRAM, meaning its theoretical maximum data transfer rate is up to 2.7GB per second. Since the launch of DDR memory an year ago, it has made an impact in the PC market. As the AMD platform PCs become more popular and the RAM prices drop, DDR RAM seems going to be the mainstream memory in the future. DDR stands for "Double Data Rate". DDR266 doubles the data transfer rate of PC133/100 memory and reaches the peak bandwidth at 2.1GB per second and 1.6GB per second, now DDR333 out beats PC133/100 SDRAM memories by more bandwidth. The AMD DDR architecture has proven to be a performance leader in many areas that it besting Intel¡¦s Pentium 4 in most standard system benchmarks.

Ultra ATA-133 is the next logical step forward in addressing the possible data bottlenecks especially with the advances in storage and in the high-performance ATA RAID products. Ultra ATA/133 gives users the performance they are looking for in today¡¦s rapidly emerging consumer applications. Very soon, Ultra ATA-133 will be the standard spec for every system build. Ultra ATA-133 is a new industry standard interface that clocks data at 133 megabytes per second, is created to assure users' needs of fast data transfer rate for the multimedia applications and the trend towards larger operating systems.

SuperAudio™ and Onboard 6-Channel Hardware Sound is one appreciable feature that IWILL Corporation intends to impose for customer¡¦s convenience. IWILL also equips this latest creation with C-media¡¦s CMI8738 6-Channel and SPDIF Hardware Sound controller - SuperAudio™, which supports PCI 32 bite HRTF 3D extension positional audio, Environmental Audio eXtention (EAX), and Microsoft's DirectSound 3D, further distinguishing IWILL's sound solution from others. Through RCA connectors or TOSLINK sockets (digital in/ digital out ports), Users can indulge themselves in their favorite CDs, MDs, DVDs, LPs, and Movies surrounded by digital quality sound. C-media's CMI8738 6-Channel and SPDIF Hardware Sound controller are now standard on all next generation Iwill motherboards.

Maximum Expansion grants the connectivity of 2 IDE connectors with native dual channel Ultra ATA-133 to ensure the reliability of data transferring. There is an IDE RAID controller, HPT372 that also supports Ultra ATA-133, to ensure smooth performance when transferring massive data files. IWILL also enlarges the implementation of the Expansion slots to 5 x 32 bit PCI, and 1 AGP 4X port. In system memory access capability, 3 DIMM slots can accumulate up to 3GB at 2.1GHz/2.7GHz, compatible to PC266, PC333 DDR SDRAM

MicroStepping Technology quenches your thirst for pursuing the rapidity of system performance. Accelerating the speed of Front Side Bus is a shortcut to enhance the performance of operating systems and software applications, especially for DIY users who are enchanted to experience the over-clocking experiment. With this technique developed by IWILL, the frequency of Front Side Bus can be easily modified via continuous 1Mhz increments up to its most. Also with the support of Vcore and VIO, XP333 can take users to extremely high speeds, enjoying the full performance of digital vision.

XP333 follows IWIL's commitment to offer great performance both on Internet connectivity and on multitasking environment with reliability, capability, and most importantly, quality. With those rich features designed by IWILL professional team, XP333 can fully satisfy the severe requirements from professionals, and meet the specifications derived from consumers.
