Magnetic Levitation System (MS), Sunon's latest innovation,
has made a great impact on the fan motor field after it's introduction
in 21st Century. The MS design is compatible with all kinds of traditional
motors using sleeve or ball bearings, helping fan motors to create
an unprecedented vibration-free, noise-free operating environment,
which is a necessity for the thermal management of PC and IT industry.

For
traditional fan motors, no matter whether they use sleeve or ball
bearings, there still are some shortcomings, such as operating noise,
friction, vibration, oil leakage, rotor stuck and shortens fan life.
Because of so many disadvantages in traditional fan motors, Sunon
has been developing a new motor structure for some years now, and
with the MS system, this research bears fruit.
The principle of SUNON MS design
is based on the utilization of magnetic force. When the system comes
into operation, the impeller, being totally and evenly attracted
in the magnetic field, rotates in a full 360 degree circle and is
perfectly balanced. This keeps the impeller rotating in a consistent
orbit and the shaft sitting at a fixed point without any vibration
or friction against inner surface of the bearing in any mounting
position, helping fan motors creating an unprecedented vibration-free,
noise-free operation environment.
What Makes MS Magic
With Sunon MS design, the magic is the induction
of magnetic force. When the motor is in operation, magnetic force
helps to attract the impeller rotor towards the end point of shaft.
The weight of the rotor is entirely attracted by the magnetic force
and the shaft, being without gravity load, pivotally held in the
bearing. In this way, a constant distance between bearing and shaft
is formed naturally without any contacts between the surfaces.
Because the shaft rotates evenly in a constant orbit
and the rotor is held at fixed point, no matter what the mounting
position is, there is no friction and noise created, and no slanting
and wobbling, which means the bearing life is extended much longer.
Except for sleeve and ball bearings, MS also works
well with Sunon's own invention, the Vapo bearing, which features
its specially treated inner surface to resist abrasions. With the
combination of the MS design and Vapo bearing, all the advantages
of ball and sleeve bearings are maintained but defects eradicated.
In addition, Sunon's Vapo bearing with MS is capable of operating
at temperature even over 70¢J.
