About SOM

Evalue provides the ETX System on Module (SOM) products based on a two-part solution. The first part—an ETX CPU module at only 114 mm x 95 mm, provides complete PC functionality, and serves as a highly integrated component mounted onto any ETX compliant carrier board; the second part—a carrier board with tailor-made specifications and four 100-pin, high-density connectors that acts as the interfacing channel.

Why SOM

Since 80% of the main components have been merged onto the ETX CPU module, only 20% of application-specific functions need to be done on the ETX carrier board. An ETX carrier board with a low profile design can be easily achieved, and satisfy the customized system requirements including form factor, functionality, cabling, or mechanical fitting issues.
