The cPCI-6860 module is compliant with the CompactPCI base specification
PICMG 2.0 and the PICMG 2.1 Hot Swap Specification. The cPCI-6860
is equipped with a rich set of peripherals, including 2 Gigabit
Ethernet ports featured by IntelR 82546EB Gigabit Ethernet Controller,
one 10/100 Ethernet port, two USB ports, VGA, one serial port, keyboard
port, and mouse port.
High I/O capability of the cPCI-6860 can be enhanced with the addition
of the cPCI-R6860 rear transition module. The cPCI-R6860 adds support
for high speed mass storage with an Ultra-160 SCSI interface, two
additional Gigabit Ethernet ports by another Intel® 82546EB
Gigabit Ethernet controller provides total 4 Gigabit Ethernet throughput
, two additional USB ports, one serial port, a removable CompactFlash
socket, and mounting holes for a 2.5 inch IDE hard drive or flash
drive.
The CPCI-6860's dual Xeon processors, quad Gigabit Ethernet ports
and Ultra-160 SCSI interface are combined to provide the highest
performance computing solution available today. CPCI-6860 delivers
ultimate performance and density for applications and services blades
which handle billing, accounting, security-tracking in carrier-grade
networking services and high performance infrastructure equipments,
such as Media Gateways, Signaling Gateways, Streaming, BSC and RNC,
etc.
