Newly joining EVALUE's army of highly integrated Single Board Computers, ESM-2440, the first model of ETX-SOM series makes its debut featuring a size as compact as ETX form factor. This mini module harbors a low-power NS Geode GX1 processor, LCD interface, AC97 Audio and PCI 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interfaces.

Evalue's SOM-ETX (System-On-Module) product line is a series of complete CPU system modules that can be mounted onto any easily designed application-specific carrier boards. These ready-to-use SOM modules integrate all aspects of PC functionality with a variety of platforms and CPU options, all within a very small 100 mm x 114 mm area. Applying SOM products to Evalue's 30-day BPS (Baseboard Prototyping Service) enables you to deliver your product to your customers in 30 days.

The ESM-2440 is a ultra small SOM-ETX CPU module that integrates with most of the PC functionalities including a low-power NS Geode GX1-300MHz processor, LCD interface, a 144-pin SODIMM socket supports SDRAM up to 256MB, AC97 Audio, and 3 bus master PCI interfaces.

In addition to the features listed above, the ESM-2440 supports an IDE channel, a FDD interface, two serial 16C550 equivalent TTL serial ports, one multi-mode parallel port, and two USB ports interface.

Given the facts that all core single board components are included within the SOM-ETX module, it enables system integrators to focus on customer specific baseboard development independent of the dynamic nature of CPU and chipset evolution. This will reduce the time and cost of research and development up to 60% and ensure an extended product life span of the baseboard. As a result, the solution-oriented baseboard can be easily designed by customers, or Evalue's Baseboard Prototyping Services, BPS.
