CeBIT ante portas - - with Taiwan a major player ! |

Dear Reader:
Be sure to mark March 15 - 21 in your 2007 calendar without fail: for your obligatory visit to CeBIT Hannover - - the trade show where anything can happen, and usually does !
Market focal points constantly move around on the world map, and so do trade shows. But facts and figures again demonstrate that Hannover steadfastly justifies its location for CeBIT, the main annual event for the entire world of IT and telecommunications.
The EITO 2005 figures of world-wide ICT markets by region are just out, and the detailed analysis, a book of sizeable volume, will be sold at CeBIT, as always, and I quote: The total market value in 2005 was 1,946 billion EURO, and its distribution of market shares show that Europe comes first with 32,2%, the USA still standing out with 29,4% Japan with14,8%, and the “4 Asian Tigers“ with 3.0% altogether, and finally a 20,6% for all the remaining rest of the world.
Audited CeBIT statistics tell that the shares of CeBIT 2006 visitors from outside Germany were 53,5% of the total coming from the European Union, 5% from Eastern Europe, 7,7% from the rest of Europe, 4,6% from America, 4,1% from Africa, 0,8% from Australia and Oceania and, surprise of surprises , no less than 24,3% from Asia - - the area where the world's ICT hardware is knocked together, and where there is no shortage of own ICT shows. Nevertheless, 25.000 Asian top businessmen saw a reason in 2006, ( and certainly will continue to find one in 2007) to go on a pilgrimage to an unsheltered, windswept enclave at the far side of the universe - - the CeBIT fairground at Hannover, to watch their markets, envy their competitors and conduct purchases of goods, software and services for their own plants and enterprises. How's that for enthusiasm ?
Further, out of the total of 435,000 visitors, the attendance of some 200,000 top-level decision-makers from around 100 different countries is a figure sufficient enough by itself to establish CeBIT as the leading business event for the entire digital community.
CeBIT 2007 is currently experiencing the highest rate of registrations in years. Out of a total of over 6,000 exhibitors, more than 3,000 will come from outside Germany, as usual.
So, CeBIT 2007 will again provide answers to all the burning questions posed by senior executives, IT managers, purchasing specialists, dealers and distributors. In keeping with the “one stop shopping” principle, visitors can obtain all the information and guidance they need at one central venue. Service providers, in particular, rely increasingly on sophisticated tools to streamline their business processes and optimize their customer support. Key issues in this context are VoIP , enterprise content management (ECM) , service-oriented architectures (SOA) and auto ID/RFID , and customer relationship management.
The much enlarged "Telematics & Navigation" display category will be another attraction. This is the first time that the entire telematics chain has been presented in the context of a trade show.
Top attractions for dealers will be the comprehensive array of ICT and CE products in the Digital Lifestyle presentations and the concentrated information available at Planet Reseller. Around 40,000 dealers and resellers from all sectors of the ICT and CE industry attended CeBIT 2006, and preliminary information such as this series of e-papers will ensure that it will be no less next year.
For example, more than 100,000 square meters will be devoted to digital CE, with hot topics such as mobile TV, DVB-H ( Digital Video Broadcasting Handheld ), as well as the convergence of fixed-line and mobile networks.
And now for something completely different:
Here again the necessary necessity - - our annual routine notice to those first-time readers who joined our existing base of 30,000 subscribers by signing on at one of our 12 TAIWAN PAVILIONS at CeBIT 2006:
TAIWAN TECHNOLOGY, published by Hannover Pacific Corporation, the official representative of Deutsche Messe AG's global trade fairs, is a non-periodic periodical, devoted solely to promoting Taiwan's ICT industry on a worldwide basis with a data bank and topical news. And a series of preliminary e-papers ( like this one ) in the run-up to CeBIT shall remind you of our Website and wet your appetite for what our exhibitors will show at Hannover. So watch your inbox from now on and keep your eyes peeled for more ! And come March 2007……
Let's talk it over - - in Hannover !
