Admittedly, the purpose of this headline is to generate enough
curiosity in you to read on: We simply don't want any professional
to miss the major Asian ICT trade fair due to our negligence of
reminding you of its existence.
Seriously though, if you arrive by air, you will really be taken
for a ride, namely from Shanghai Airport to CeBIT Asia in Pudong
at a speed of 430 km/h (!) by the German-built futuristic Transrapid
MAGLEV monorail system. And if you emerge from the train, you will
face another achievement of German know-how and ingenuity:
The Shanghai New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC)! It was
created by the combined know-how of three German trade fair cities,
among them Deutsche Messe AG , the world's largest and most active
trade fair organizer, owner and operator of the Hannover Fairgrounds.
All this is reflected by the appearance of Shanghai¡¦s
SNIEC, which ranks as the best venue in China and the entire Asia-Pacific
region, in terms of quality and customer orientation as well.
CeBIT Asia, Asia's foremost information and communications technology
tradeshow, is owned and organized by Deutsche Messe AG and its Shanghai
subsidary, Hannover Fairs China Inc.
Among the 15 supporters of the event are names such as the Ministry
of the Information Industry and the Ministry of Science and Technology,
PRC, the European Information Technology Observatory (EITO) the
German Association of Information Technology, Telecommunications
and New Media (BITKOM) and related organizations of France, Korea,
Switzerland and the U.K.

But, we have enough reason to insist that the professional level
of a trade show is important in a country
with already too many me-too-organizers. By "level" I
